IMPORTANT
Beginning at the 2012 State Tournament, some Open players will be classified as Master Team Players. These are players that played on a Level 1 team that finished in the top 6% of the teams entered. Two Master Team Players will be treated the same as a Master Player for all team events. CLICK HERE for a list of Master Team Players.

Thanks to all the operators that had either replied to Barb's ballot on the team make up for ISPA, or that I talked to to give some clarity to this matter before most leagues start. This is the guideline that you all voted as correct, and I am sure will give the most players a level field of competition for the team tournaments.
Level II teams
A level II team with only Level II players will play without adding handicap games
A level II team may include ONE level one player, but will need to win two additional games to win a match.
A level II team may NOT include a master level or Elite player at any time
Open teams ( Level One )
An Open team that plays with only Open or Level II players will play without handicap games
An Open team that plays with ONE Team Master will also not add handicap games
An Open team that plays with TWO Team Master players must add two handicap games
An Open team that plays with ONE Singles Master player must add two handicap games
An Open team may not have any combination of Master Singles and Master Team players
An Open team may not have an Elite player
Master Teams
A Master Team may have any combination of Level II or Open Players that wish to compete in Masters Team events
A team will be required to compete in Masters competition if:
That team includes more than TWO Master Team players
The team includes more than ONE Master Singles player
The team has any combination of Master Singles and Master Team players
The team includes one Elite player ( then the team is required to include at least one Open Level player )
Master TEAM designations DO NOT effect individual rankings of Level II and Open Level singles players during singles competition.
Hope this helps clear this matter and helps your teams all play a fun and challenging tournament.
